Those who have been following our journey from the beginning will know that our mission was to raise funds to build a new centre at West Berkshire Community Hospital. So for those who are unaware, we thought we’d reiterate in a short blog post why the centre is so important.
Up until now, Cancer and kidney disease patients have had to travel unreasonable distances to receive treatment, which is particularly unfair considering the circumstances. We are sure you’ll agree with us when we say they deserve to be provided with a space that is welcoming, well equipped and convenient to get to.
Therefore, since early 2016 we have been raising money for the new Greenham Trust Wing to be built which will provide essential facilities to the local community. This will include day therapy, chemotherapy, renal dialysis, IV therapies, a CT scanner and even staff training to ensure patients are provided with care of the highest quality.
We are thrilled to say that the support we’ve received since launching the appeal has been phenomenal. The community spirit, generosity and compassion for those in need in West Berkshire is undeniable and has helped us get closer and closer to the final target. We can’t thank you enough for this.
However, we now require one final push for your help with fundraising to get us to the £5.1 million. Every donation, no matter how big or small will make a huge difference. It’s also worth noting that money raised for the Rosemary Appeal can be DOUBLED through match funding through The Good Exchange.
Cancer and kidney disease will affect all of us in some way or another, so let’s do all we can to transform the lives of those closest to us.
